I have worn Mediven Sheer & Soft knee highs for at least 15 years if not more. They are made of the best material I have found for a high compression of 30-40 mm Hg as they are flexible enough so that I can get them over my heel, but strong enough to prevent ulcers. And they come in 2 lengths too!

These sheer stockings feel so silky without compromising on the support I need. I first ordered one pair, then got more. They nearly fully prevent ankle swelling. After about a month of daily stocking wear, the painful leg infection (Lipodermatosclerosis) related to swelling had resolved. Sure, I was using a steroid cream too. These stockings make it easy to keep my leg normal size, so I doubt the infection will return. Being so lightweight and easy to don, they are terrific for warmer weather with pants and a closed toe shoe (because the toes and heel are reinforced).
